I'm a terrible blogger! We've been so busy spending time in the beautiful weather, trying to keep the house in order, and enjoying time together as a family that I've neglected the blog! I guess it's better to live life than to blog about it, but here is a quick update on Tucker's last three weeks.
Tucker has turned into a little beaver. He started chewing on his crib a few weeks ago. There are big teeth marks along the top rail. He got his 7th tooth, and it seems to have gotten better since that has poked through the gums. I got a gummy rail protector to put on the crib if he starts doing it again. He missed a few days of daycare during that time because he spiked a temperature. Jeremy was able to stay home with him a couple days and I was working nights so I was able to keep him home with me a different day, but he has been back to normal after just a couple of down days.
He has started to do more walking along the couch and coffee table. He's also been using his baby walker without prompting or assistance from Mom or Dad. A couple of days ago, he was pushing a box around as if it was a walker. It was an interesting way of getting around!
He has started to love riding on Jeremy's shoulders, and he LOVES when I chase him and Daddy around while he is up there. He giggles uncontrollably. He has also learned that I can chase him when he's crawling. All I have to say is "I'm gonna get you," and he giggles and starts to crawl away. Some of my favorite moments over the past few weeks have been chasing my giggling boy!
On Saturday, my Dad was reading a book to Tucker with a sleeping baby on each page. He told Tucker "kiss the baby" and Tucker would bend down and put his lips to the page. Tucker did this over and over to each baby on each page. We've tried it again with the book later and he did it again. Since then, he has kissed a stuffed Tiger and Mommy with prompting!!
Tucker has several new favorite foods. His favorite is apricots. He has tried both dried and fresh, and loves them both! We actually have to limit how many he eats because he would eat them until he got sick if we let him. He also loves tomatoes, artichoke hearts, blueberries, peaches, and nectarines. He has tried some of our bagels with cream cheese and liked it. We've gone out to eat a few times with him, and it is so nice to be able to feed him off of a menu instead of having to bring special food all the time. He liked my wild rice soup and gyro meat a couple weeks ago, but his favorite is Mexican food because then he gets guacamole and refried beans!
We had a little scare with our cat Oliver last weekend. We don't let the cats outside after supper or dark because they get naughty and go out by the road or run farther than they should. Well, he is good at opening drawers and doors and decided that he would open the screen door and let himself out. We searched for him for hours that night. Jeremy stayed up until 2 AM and I went out at 5 AM to search for him, but we never found him. He didn't have his collar on, but we posted on the internet and searched for found cats matching his description. We went to bed the second night after he was gone thinking that we might never see him again. At 4 AM, I heard meowing outside our window, and it was him! He was gone 2 nights for a total of about 32 hours and he was very hungry when he got home, but we didn't find any other injuries. Bruno was very happy to see him. He moped around while Oliver was missing and wouldn't leave the house on one of the nicest days we've had. When Tucker saw him after he'd been gone, he got even more excited than usual and it sounded like he was saying "kitty." Now, he wears his collar all day, and we are especially careful with the doors.
He turned 10 months old since my last post, and every week I think it's my favorite age. Then, he turns another week older, I see a little more of his personality, and I fall in love with him a little more (if that's even possible!) Here is the little cutie!

I don't like the grass on my knees. |
I'll just do my crab walk outside, so I don't have to feel the yucky grass. |
Look at this pretty flower, Mom! |
Sometimes when I nap, I sleep with my butt up in the air. |
A pot and spoon can be a used to make soup, a cool drum, or you can just chew on it. |
I'm 10 months old now! |
I swear I didn't take a bite of the paper. |
I'm still not admitting to eating the paper. |
I see a kitty! |
How do I look? Is this a good angle? |
I'm still trying to get used to how my new tooth feels. |
These are my baby squats. I need to get my legs toned up for summer. |
You can't catch me! |
I wish I could help Daddy mow the lawn. |
Mommy got this ukelele for Daddy 5 years ago when she was in Hawaii. They let me play it sometimes if I'm careful. |
I hope I'm as good a musician as my Daddy when I grow up. |
I missed you Oliver. I just want to give you a hug! |
It has been my goal for a long time to play in the kitty bowl. I've gotten my hands wet, but this time I dumped the whole thing out! I love playing in water!! |
My uncle Christopher came to visit for a couple days. I was pretty tired when he came to see me, but he'll be back later this summer to see me again! |
